I subscribe to all photos tagged “traverse City” in Flickr. This one really struck me.
In the 70s, my parents and I always camped at Spider Lake. On the way up old 131, we passed Reed city, where the man, George Bennard, who wrote the gospel hymm "The Old Rugged Cross" lived. They put a big cross out on the highway and Mom would always wake me up to see it. I thought it was long gone, but it was replaced by a newer cross and moved to a museum devoted to Bennard and his time in Reed City.

Great tasting today. We bought a bottle of the Red and a bottle of Island View Pinot Blanc (which was EXCELLENT). i am so happy to see such excitement at Building 50.
And sometimes we touch people’s lives without even knowing it.
Great shot! The Blue Angels flew over Spider Lake a lot over the weekend.
