The iTunes Music Store totally surprised me last night with some SONGS I love..... Counting Crows have covered "Amie" originally recorded by Pure Prairie League. One of my all time favorite songs and available at iTunes for .99!!! The cover has a sweet, almost cajun/zydeco feeling but still preserves the country flavor of the original. Other songs: River by Travis from a CD called Christmas Calling and Sixpence None the Richer doing It Came Upon a Midnight Clear! -- especially cities I've been to. Here's
one:
Ramblin Man: I’m on my way to New Orleans this mornin’, Leaving out of Nashville, Tennessee, They’re always having a good time down on the bayou, Lord, them delta women think the world of me. rain
I've been calling your name Got that lonely feeling again Calling out your name Do you hear me? Do you want me? Baby it's all or nothing now I don't wanna run and I cant walk out You're breaking my heart if you leave me now Don't wanna wait for ever Who do you think you're fooling Who do you think you're fooling Baby it's all or nothing, Baby it's all or nothing now I've been trying to get to your heart But I'm chasing shadows We keep falling further apart So near and you're so far Do you care now? Do you know how? Cher, All or Nothing (The Almighty Mix rocks my world!) Posted at 07:07 AM Read More Sun - October 26, 2003Fallen / Sarah McLachlanHeaven bent to take my hand And lead me through the fire Be the long awaited answer To a long and painful fight Truth be told I've tried my best But somewhere along the way I got caught up in all there was to offer And the cost was so much more than I could bear Though I've tried, I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so... We all begin with good intent Love was raw and young We believed that we could change ourselves The past could be undone But we carry on our backs the burden Time always reveals The lonely light of morning The wound that would not heal It's the bitter taste of losing everything That I have held so dear. I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so... Heaven bent to take my hand Nowhere left to turn I'm lost to those I thought were friends To everyone I know Oh they turned their heads embarassed Pretend that they don't see But it's one missed step You'll slip before you know it And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed Though I've tried, I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so... Matt, Eden, Michelle and I actually crossed a picket line of concerned citizens who thought Boy George was bringing unwholesomeness and degradation to Indianapolis. Gee, if that was the worst thing that every happened to Indianapolis they should be happy... how silly it seems in 2003... I'm more afraid of some of our leaders and religious figures than I am of dear old George. Boy, that is, not the DubYa. Anyway, Tuesday marks the re-release of CC's first three albums, remastered and expanded. I just ordered them from amazon.com for $10.99 each. some "not so favorite" songs, I weeded out the iTunes Library last Thursday.
After
buying new music last week, I was inspired to make sure I had the
best songs and the best sounding songs. The Steve Miller, Doors and dead stuff
sounded a million times better than what I had from buying those CDs years
ago.... off they went!
Now the library hovers at 27MB and can automatically sync to the 40GB and the 30GB.... sweet. Posted at 10:38 AM Read More Wed - September 24, 2003New Releases this WeekI guess it's that time in the fall when the record
companies put out Greatest Hits packages. I'm tickled because in this last
weekends big push to simplify and clear clutter out of my house, I actually
wished I had a couple GH packages for some CDs I put in the " to be sold "
bag.

On my way to work, i saw her bus -- shades drawn. (I thought about stopping to pound on the door and see if she'd join me for tea but I decided to let her sleep) She chatted a bit during the show. She said she had been out and about and thought our area was pretty cool... Here's a fan site that is pretty darn cool. Here's her own site with the SB Setlist!!! Posted at 10:39 AM Read More Ashley MacIsaac![]() Recalls Ashley at the time,
“My father once told me, ‘If you want to play the fiddle, get mad at
it or don’t play it at
all.’”
Just got Ashley MacIsaac's new CD from Amazon . It's very quirky and cool. Ashley plays Celtic fiddle and on this CD he sings as well. His voice has a unique quality that I appreciate. I am drawn to vocals that are different: Stevie's signature vibrato and rasp, Michael Stipe's tonal quality, Melissa Etheridge's raspiness, etc. Check out this CD and his other releases. I flipped for his "Sleepy Maggie" from his earlier CD Hi, How are You Today? Posted at 10:38 AM Read More |
